Albany Yacht Club "Docks In" 2009

We had a great time these past two weekends getting the Club ready for the 2009 boating season. Lots of Club members showed up to get things set up and put the docks in the River. At the end of the first day of work, most of the South section was afloat. The entire dock system was in place by Saturday of the 2nd weekend. Here are a few pictures of the docks going in.

Cool panorama of the Albany Yacht Club docks from the east side of the Hudson River. Click on the photo to see an enlarged view and check back later for an "after" panorama with all the boats at the docks.

Spring 2009 commissioning

May 13th is our scheduled launch date! In preparation, we're working on several "projects":

  • Replace access plates on fuel tanks (oozing diesel fuel is not fun)

  • Touch up brightwork

  • Install new boom vang

  • Install Raymarine E120 Chartplotter and associated goodies (NEMA interface, AIS, etc.)

  • Rewire knot meter transducer

  • Replace diesel engine hoses and turbocharger oil return

And then, there's the never-ending bronze polishing to maintain that golden luster...

How nuts are we?? These polished bronze anchor rollers and all the other bronze hardware on Serena require a heavy dose of elbow grease to maintain the golden luster
